Conventional Insanity

I wanted this poem
To be real grand,
But all of my thoughts,
When written, seemed bland.
Though here none the less
Is what I wanted to say,
“Hello there friends!
It’s me, Sam, and I’m gay.”

They come to act on stage today,
The actors in the comedy,
To have some fun and make their pay.

They say that it’s a remedy,
To giggle and laugh all day,
For life-the great big tragedy.

I went to cure my sadness,
From all the fights and shouting,
By laughing at their madness.

It was a real-fun outing
With puns much full of cleverness
And over-dramatic pouting.

And after the play was done,
My belly full of laughter-pain,
I thanked the actors for the fun.

And backstage stood a window pane,
Which glimmered in the sun,
Above a picture of one slain.

Last night they lost one of their own,
A friend of laughter and joy.
I wish that I had known,

For he was just a little boy
With skills left yet to hone,
For I would have been coy.

The actors, though, they smile
As they perform each night,
Which makes me ponder for a while.

If they can make the tragedy light,
despite life’s nasty bile,
Then I can, too, be happy, right?

So, my family just got a Blendtec Total Blender, and I think I’m having a bit too much fun with it.  XD 

It came with a recipe book, and I tried this one smoothie today, so I’d thought I’d share it with y’all.

• 1 orange - peel and remove seeds
• 1/3 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
• 1 cup strawberries - leave stems
• 1/2 banana - peeled (of course it’s peeled, silly recipe)
• 1 cup ice
  Directions:  Place ingredients in jar in order as listed and secure the lid.  Press the smoothie button.

I happen to like this smoothie.  My little sister, not so much, but I think that’s because she knew the strawberry stems were left in the smoothie.

It has a really refreshing taste, which I enjoy.  The smoothie was also very smooth with little tiny bits of fruit here and there, like most smoothies have.  Leaving the strawberry stems was really interesting.  It gave the smoothie a neat look to it, and it adds in some extra nutrients, yay!

I like this smoothie, but it’s not my favorite.

What are your opinions about this?  Does it sound good?  If you actually make the smoothie, do you like the way it tastes?
